About our Meditation Centre
The Chittamani Mahayana Buddhist Meditation Center based at AYO offers classes in Vipassana Meditation (also known as Insight Meditation), as well as special meditation nights with specific topics. These classes are given by Dr Bob Kapitany, (Lama Gelek) who is the resident teacher for the centre.
The Centre is a Gaden for the West meditation centre under the spiritual direction of the Venerable Acharya Zasep Tulku Rinpoche. As well as Dharma classes, the Centre offers the opportunity for meditation retreats throughout the year.
Weekly classes
Healing Meditation and Instruction
Jan 22-March 5
8-9:30pm
You may still register after the course has started
AYO and the Chittamani Mahayana Buddhist Meditation Centre are offering a new series of Healing Meditations and Instruction. The first of these series starts on January 22.
These sessions are aimed at fostering emotional healing and resilience and can be attended by anyone, but are especially helpful for transforming anxiety, stress and depression.
Each course is available in-person and online. You MUST pre-book online (for both in-person and on-line attendance) if you wish to attend. There are no walk-ins available at the studio and if you prefer to attend online a separate Zoom email link will be sent to you after you have registered.
Costs are “by donation,” so it is free to register into the course, with a suggested minimum donation of $20 per session which can be brought to class. Online attendees will be given information about how to pay online.
NOTE: In the Buddhist tradition, it is customary to make an offering to the Lama in addition to the course costs. This is usually by donation – reflecting financial ability of the student and perceived benefit of the teaching.
Retreat
The Chittamani Centre offers retreat opportunities at least four times a year.
Attendance at the weekly teachings is a requirement to prepare students for retreat.
